Description

This is my first attempt at a clay sculpture.
Gelsuckers are a species native to the Planet Darwin IV on Wayne Douglas Barlowe book Expedition, they use their mantis-like front legs to rip open strange jellyfish-like plants and feed on their spilled insides.
About this guy here... it took me a long, long while to get all the pieces together, but finally it got in one piece... though the modelling and assemblage took me like two months or something, I managed to paint it in just one day :D

UPDATE: It has come to my attention that this photo was submitted as an illustration of this species in Aliens Wikia, (aliens.wikia.com/wiki/File:Dar… ) which is awesome, but PLEASE, can someone provide them my link there, so I can get at least properly referenced/credited from that page?
